Wachovia HR Workforce Analytics - First Anniversary

My journey towards west was to take over my new responsibility as an integeral member of the on going Wachovia HR Workforce analytics team here at charlotte. It was carolyn, our Project Manager who invited us to her home for celebrating the first anniversary of our team. It was a one hour drive to her place,... we have already filled in our car with lots of indian foods,.. briyani's samosaa's,.. When we entered her home,.. we were totally surprised to see the little cute daughter of her. She was very active and she invited us with atmost care. The way the party was organised was fantastic,.. hmmm,..got an oppurtunity to meet all the other team members who were working virtually. The words " Treat this as your home and feel comfortable " made me feel good on that occasion. After a 2 hour gettogether,.. discussions,... and fun,... the party came to an end. Before we left,..we just signed in the guest book that hawkins family is maintaining. when we came back,.. george car literally encountered hydroplanning in two occasions,..but somehow he managed to drive it carefully :-)...you know george is a skillfull driver.

Nakato - Sushi

Nakato - Sushi Bar is a japanese restaurant. One fine day, it was murali, myself and amit who jumped in a cruiser wagon to drive across to nakato for our lunch. hmmm,... the interiors was totally reflecting japanese culture,.. when the bearer invited us to a table,.. i was totally surprised to see the kitchen setup,.. yes there were sticks(sorry am not getting the exact name :-) we ordered for chicken fried noodles,.. the chef came along there and had all the ingredients in his trawlee,.. he started cooking in the same table and wow,.... the food when served was delicious and had a little bit of coconut flavor. I started of eating in sticks,.. it was difficult for a while,.. i just sticked on to the basics,.. "never scoup a lot inorder to eat in a single mouth,..whatever came in the stick i just tasted it",..murali was in full flow,.think he got experiance running the show for him,... whereas amit opted for the spoons,.. all together it was a heavy and tasty lunch,... i have tasted japanese food in their own style :-)

Copper - Indian Cusine @ Charlotte

After a long and frustrated day at office, Just got a break as a mail peeped into my mail box containing the invitation to a team anniversary . so started of in a cool blue sport car and it rumbled into the 85-s,..then into 77 and finally into copper,the indian cusine. the interiors was quite good and the place was really calm. Almost 7 people - my team members were already there and got myself settled,..(with all the official work schedules running in my mind),..just stumbled to order ,..hmmm wihtin a few seconds one of my team members ordered for the appetizers,..then the chiken,..wow,..that was really fantastic,.... filled in a lot :-)... felt sleepy,... came back and ,..... whats next ,.. a nice sleep right??/ good night ,... 4th october inithey mudikirathu .......

Black Jack - The game that swallows money

During the weekends,.. the only entertainment is black jack. The game, when started we would seem to gain more money,... but gradually by end of date you will be getting out empty handed.
Its kind of a game where little tactics and more of emotions are involved. So be carefull when you are playing the real gamble. ......
You know i have lost today terribly :-( thats why i have added in my philosophy (sorry,.. i call it so...)

Lake Norman

On August 26th 2006, I found myself in a roaring car disturbing the silence of the natural pathway up into the deep forests of the lake norman.It was a sunny day and more than the usual, the weather conditions changed. Cool breeze mixed with a wooden aroma was passing away by us.The calm and silent nature of the lake reflected the peacefull behaviour of the lagoons that were jumping here and there from one tree to the other.Four of us parked the car on the road side and started walking into a one way path covered with withered leaves and were thrilled to feel the darkness grow on us....

My Journey towards the West - 1

It was 12th August early morning, the lufthansa jumbo flyers were ready to take me to one of the
 worlds busiest hub Frankfurt.yeah,.. it was an official trip. The Client wanted a person with a specialised knowledge to go to their place and work for them. The journey was scheduled and planned chennai - frankfurt - washington dc - charlotte. After a long delay the jumbo prepared itself to the journey. I boarded the jumbo ( i luv to call it so...) and things were totally different then,... Gotta a feeling of being seated in the air bus that i used to travel to my native from chennai.
The crew ,.. the captain 's german accent which influenced the english version of his speech and order was totally strong,..it was kinda heavy gravity . With the countdown ticking away and the jumbo engines roaring,.. i felt that i was moving,.. yes moving towards a destination to which i have never been,.. yes waited to see the land of hitler,.. the great.

Driving My Bike - Time Pass

When everything around me seems still, and when I am totally upset about something that had made me worry,... It's my bike that accompanies me to relax. Yes,.. I love driving my bike that too in East Coast Road . At times a fast ride would be enjoyable but mostly slow driving along the coast would add more pleasant feeling to my mood. I think most of the boys love driving their bikes. Its my toy that i use frequently and its my machine friend which calms me down when I am restless at times.

Virtual Reality - My Workshop

VRML - Virtual Reality Markup Language can be quite related to the HTML - Hyper Text Mark up Language. In HTML, we type in the code in a notepad and save it as .html inorder to create a web page. The Browsers used were IE,Netscape, Mozilla , Firefox,... Similarily the VRML is written in a notepad and saved as .wrl . Browsers like VRealm, VRscout, Cosmoplayer are the ones that would render the 3d workspace of the objects that we create. virtual walkthroughs of a building, Face as in Humanoids ,.. and many more can also be created. I am totally interested in designing Virtual space for real time objects. People who are really interested in this field can help me out in sharing the ideas and the real work that VRML is capable of.

Web Design - My Passion

one fine evening,I was walking down the corridor in my college . I remember that year to be 2000. Yes I was in my first year and to my suprise i saw a crowd of people who were standing around the Notice Board. I struggled to move across my friends and to my suprise there was a web page design competition posted. I gathered the information and found myself in my college bus in another few hours. I was thinking hard about how well could i be able to design and other related stuffs. In the mean time , I got introduced to one of my college senior and I asked him about the various things that the web page would require. My moral was totally broke when he supressed me by responding to my queries like " Hey ,.. you are too young,... you dont know much about web sites,.. you will not be able to design a good page ,.. you are wasting time ,.. HTML is tough to learn ,... you cannot,.. " On listening to him , I decided myself that i should equip myself with the necessary things that would make me as a web master. This was the incident that added more fuel to my burning desire as well as to my creative path in web designing.

Basketball - I love this game.

when i was studying fifth standard, I started playing basket ball in Lisieux. When i recall those days its like an golden era that i have led in my school. Yes, the academics as well as sports was a whole world to me. I have heard of Jordan then and was a big fan of Bryant. The echo sounds of p-a-s-s , s-h-o-o-t , d-r-i-v-e-i-n , 0-0-p-s , 3-pointer , . . . are still making me smile when i think of those wonderful days. As years passed on ,.. I got into YMCA BBC club , became a key play maker in my school basketball team. There were success and failures in the matches that i had played. I would like to tell you that it was those days of team game that made me learn the art of Team Player which helps me even now to work as a team in my project.

Who am I ?

Hi People, this is Pon Arun kumar . I take this opputunity in meeting you all and sharing the information that i know and looking forward to learn a lot from you all. Let me introduce myself before proceeding further. Like most of you all, I had a very good time during my schooling at Lisieux Matriculation Higher Secondary School, coimbatore. It was a Boys only school and we guys had a fantastic time by reading,playing and especially playing dumbchardes and Basket ball. Later on I completed my bachelor of engineering in Sri Krishna college of engineering and technology,coimbatore. Right from 22-09-1982 I was in coimbatore and recently 2 years back i moved on to chennai to pursue my job as a software engineer at hexaware technologies.
